Customer Service Representative I - Specialized Banking (Roseville, CA) 30 Hours

The Roseville office of Merchants Bank of Commerce has an immediate need for a Customer Service Representative I – Specialized Banking. A typical schedule would be Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, working 6 hours daily, totaling 30 hours a week. The Customer Service Representative I is responsible for providing excellent customer service and adding to the positive growth of the Bank by providing solutions to customer needs and promoting products and services that meet their needs. This is done while ensuring prompt, efficient, confidential and accurate service.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Process all assigned lockbox projects on a daily basis (sort, open, and process mail received).
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Provide excellent service to customers both in person and over the phone.
  • Open new accounts.
  • Prepare required Bank documents and obtain all necessary customer information and supporting documentation to ensure completion of account documentation.
  • Order checks, Debit cards, e-statements, etc.
  • Set up and train customers on Remote Deposit, Lockbox and Online banking, Positive Pay, Corporate Banking.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements of the position are a high school diploma or equivalent, two (2) years banking experience, two (2) years of experience opening business and trust accounts, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, and possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance, as well as a good driving record. The Customer Service Representative I must also maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, work accurately with close attention to detail, and have the ability to understand and describe Bank products and services, including cross-selling appropriate products and services.

The successful Customer Service Representative I will also have excellent customer service and communication skills, good time-management, organizational, multi-tasking, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to work independently and as part of a group.

Part-Time Teller - Corning, CA

The Corning office of Merchants Bank of Commerce has an immediate need for a part-time Teller. A typical schedule would be Monday through Friday from 11:00AM to 4:30PM. The Teller is responsible for providing excellent customer service and adding to the positive growth of the Bank by providing solutions to customer needs and promoting products and services tailored to our customers. This is done while ensuring prompt, efficient, confidential and accurate service.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Providing prompt, efficient service, including performing various financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals and issuing cashier’s checks.
  • Assisting customers with payment processing and other tasks including safe deposit access, stop payments, interest rate quotes, and account inquiries.
  • Adhering to Bank policies, procedures, and balancing rules.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements of the position are a high school diploma or equivalent, and an understanding of banking laws and regulations. The Teller must also maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, work accurately with close attention to detail, and have the ability to understand and describe Bank products and services, including cross-selling appropriate products and services. Tellers must also have a good understanding of safety issues and the ability to identify potential fraud and fraudulent items.

The successful Teller will also have excellent customer service and communication skills, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of professionalism.

  • Opening new accounts and performing account maintenance, including preparing required documentation and ordering checks, cards, statements, etc., and setting up online banking.
  • Following established Bank procedures and practices to ensure completeness and accuracy of work.
  • Provide clerical duties, such as monitor incoming calls for the branch and directing calls to proper recipients.

Requirements of the position are a high school diploma or equivalent, and an extensive knowledge of banking law and regulations related to new accounts and bank operations. The Customer Service Representative must also maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, work accurately with close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, as well as the ability to understand and describe Bank products and services in a concise manner.

Centralized Banking Representative (EFT) - Redding, CA

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Process data files and reports with strong attention to detail; pull data and perform data entry to facilitate the needs of Centralized Banking.
  • Meet deadlines with processing of EFT transactions – both in sending and receiving electronic transactions, and apply error resolution.
  • Provide support to front line staff by fielding questions as they pertain to processes within Centralized Banking.
