Overdraft Services

A checking account feature in which you can link your savings account or a line of credit to your checking account to cover costly overdrafts.

BENEFITS WITH EITHER CHOICE:

  • Easy to setup - Only pay for Overdraft Service if you use it
  • Peace of Mind - Mistakes can happen, but with either of the Overdraft Service choices, you can help ensure your checking account is covered
  • Save Money - Help to avoid paying fees for overdrawing your checking account

HOW IT WORKS

SAVINGS OVERDRAFT

If you write a check, authorize a payment or take a cash withdrawal when there are not enough funds in your checking account, funds will be transferred from your Savings account, up to your available savings account balance, to your checking account to cover the overdraft.

  • Funds will only be transferred once per business day
  • One Savings account can be linked to several checking accounts for coverage
OVERDRAFT LINE OF CREDIT*

If you write a check, authorize a payment or take a cash withdrawal when there are not enough funds in your checking account, funds will be transferred from your Overdraft Line of Credit to your checking account to cover the overdraft up to your approved credit limit.

  • Funds will only be transferred once per business day
  • One Overdraft Line of Credit account can be linked to several checking accounts for coverage
  • $25 annual fee, waived the first year
  • Interest will accrue on outstanding balances

  • When you enroll in our CENTS-Ability program, every MBOC MasterCard® debit card purchase is rounded up to the nearest dollar1
  • No CENTS-Ability fee
  • We transfer the difference from your checking to your savings, automatically

Upon completion of the CENTS-Ability transfer agreement, Merchants Bank of Commerce will increase your debit card transaction to the next whole dollar and will transfer the difference from your MBOC checking to your MBOC savings account. These transactions will be processed at the end of each business day. If your checking account does not have enough money to increase to the next whole dollar, a transaction for the difference will not be generated. Ask to speak to a Customer Service Representative for more information.

Mobile Deposit is a quick and simple way to make a deposit to your Merchants Bank of Commerce account from your mobile device.

Electronic Statements

By switching to online statements, you can manage your account easily while reducing mail and paper cluttering your desk. Plus, when you stop your monthly paper checking or savings account statements, you can help the environment by reducing paper consumption.

WHY MAKE THE SWITCH?

Security - Mail theft is on the rise so secure your statement by receiving it electronically!

Less Clutter -All of your statements will be stored in online banking so no need to try and find a spot for them at home.

Efficiency - You'll be able to locate your statements quicker than ever and you can upload them directly to different programs.

Go Green - Less paper means less impact to the environment. Every little bit helps!

HOW TO ENROLL:
  1. Log in to you online banking
  2. Click on settings -> statement delivery
  3. Click drop down for delivery type and choose e-statement for each account you want to enroll in electronic statements.
  4. Verify the email address is correct, if your email address is not correct please contact the bank at 800.421.2575. Once your email is updated, you may enroll in electronic statements.
  5. Click the option to accept or decline the statement option. If you choose to decline, you will not be enrolled in electronic statements.
  6. You're enrolled! You may receive one more paper statement.

Electronic statements are only available for checking and savings accounts.
